We understand and appreciate that wedding dress shopping can be an overwhelming and, potentially, scary prospect. Rest assured that, here at The Bottom Drawer, we ensure your appointment experience is calm, relaxed, friendly and most importantly fun!
With exclusive appointments, you and your Bridal Party will enjoy uninterrupted attention from us on a one-to-one basis for 60 or 90 minutes, depending on your appointment type. We are on hand throughout to make sure there are smiles all round and of course some happy tears.
We don't want to turn anyone away so please call or email to book your appointment. However if you are passing please do pop in to see us, even if we can't show you our dresses right away we may have a spare appointment later that day.
What size are your samples?
Our samples range from a size 8 – 16. A sample dress will never fit you perfectly but please don’t worry, all of our dresses can be ordered in many sizes.
What should I wear?
Please wear nude underwear (if possible, what you will be wearing on the day!) and again preferably the shoes you are planning to wear, if not bring shoes which are similar in height to what you will be wearing on your wedding day.
Can I bring the girls?
As there is limited space in our little boutique, we ask that you keep the party to a maximum of 6 people.
Can you loan Samples from the Designers?
If you have seen a dress on one of the designers websites that you would like to try that I do not have it in the boutique, it is possible to loan dresses in for you. I will contact the designer on your behalf to find out the availability of the sample dress and arrange a convenient appointment with you to try it on. For some of the designers this is free of charge and for others there may be a small delivery charge (which will be refundable if you decide to purchase the dress).
When do I need to order my dress?
Most of our dresses take between 10 – 14 weeks to arrive at the boutique. Some take a little longer, so we would normally advise leaving 6 months to ensure your dress arrives on time & allows time for alterations. Rush orders can be arranged, but these come with an additional charge, depending on the designer.
How do I pay?
If you find 'The One' at The Bottom Drawer, (and we certainly hope you do) we would require a 50% deposit to place your order. We accept card or cash payments.
What Happens Next?
Your dress will arrive into the boutique as per the estimated delivery time discussed.. I will contact you to arrange a collection date & for you to try your dress & discuss alterations if necessary. We are able to hold onto your dress as long as you need us too, although once your alterations are completed, you are required to collect your dress within 14 days.
We use a professional and qualified seamstress that attends appointments in the boutique on the first Saturday of the month (unless otherwise agreed.) These generally start a couple of months prior to your wedding date. Your alterations are a separate charge.
Please ensure you have a safe place you can hang the dress up high in the protective bag provided. Prior to your wedding, store the dress away from heat, light and damp.
